Dual Annulus Gas Well Sand Retention Testing        (Dual-liner SRT)

Dual-liner SRT (Gas Reservoirs)

The setup is a modified SRT equipment to perform the sand control testing for a gas well with dual  perforated casing-liner completion . The equipment simulates the wellbore and surrounding porous medium. It includes a cylindrical sand-pack core holder (6.4 cm in inner diameter and 15 cm in height), the unit for saturating the sand pack with brine and injecting gas, solid collection units, data acquisition, and instrumentation units. The base of the equipment houses the perforated casing disk, screen coupon (slotted liner screen, wire-wrapped screen, punched screen) and an adaptor that accommodates two perforated disks, one representing the casing and another representing the liner. The adapter with the two perforated disks produces two gaps representing the casing-liner and liner-screen annular gaps.

The setup is unique in integrating the sand control screen with the porous medium and capturing screen-sand interactions in sanding and screen plugging at actual wellbore conditions. The testing is done under a representative sand porosity and high gas flow velocity.
