Students will be visiting the vernal pools located at Mather Regional Park from 9am-12pm to see what they have been learning in action. Please ensure that your child is on time as the buses will be leaving promptly at 9am. Students will be eating a picnic lunch at the park, therefore a sack lunch and water is encouraged for them to bring.
9-9.20: Bus Ride
9:20-9:40 Unload Buses and complete the Orientation
9:40-10:40-Hands on Stations
10:40-11:10- Nature Walk
11:10-11:40-Lunch
11:40-12:00 Load into the Buses and head back to school
Students will rotate between 4 stations
Station 1: Water Cycle Activity- students get to color and discuss their knowledge on the water cycle
Station 2: Animal Lookout-Students get to be on the lookout for animals and discuss how important the water cycle is for them
Station 3: Water Sampling-Students get to experiment with the collection of water and check out different samples
Station 4: Ecosystem Creation- with a group of peers, students will create their own ecosystem!
Students will be taken on a guided tour around the vernal pools. Students will get to see everything they have been learning about in action! On this nature walk, students will get to see (hopefully) animals that rely on the water cycle, collection
