Goals of Design Review
Receive feedback on:
Layout and format of our app
Select a body part feature
Exercise options (strength, stretch, and recover)
Focus on Accessibility, Ability, and Awareness
Questions to ask
Is the app easy to follow?
Should we add in our stand up watch idea?
Does our app meet our users’ needs?
Mission
To integrate physical activity in elderly people’s lives through Accessibility, Ability, and Awareness
How did we come up with this?
Interviews:
Not looking to workout, rather maintain their physical abilities
Motivated by living independently
Research:
Most elderly people are satisfied with their lives, not looking to be stronger
Don’t exercise because it is too tiring
There are rarely elderly people in gyms, so why target that subgroup?
Conclusion: People know that working out is good for them, but they just need a boost
Developing our Design
We looked at things that worked:
Stand up app
Apple watch/Fitbit
Physical solutions did not satisfy our non-functional requirements
We are targeting are users’ mental mindset
An app is the best possible solution to solve our users’ problem
Survey showed that our users want education and reminders
