We conducted an interview with two of Louis’ physiotherapists, Ella Young and Magid Khan. The interview was conducted over a phone call at 9pm on May 26th, 2022. The attendees present were Louis Gabison, Diego Alamillos, Matt Saperstein, and Rishi Kothari.
Purpose: To understand the current way physiotherapists provide exercises to their clients; to understand issues with the current method; to explore potential solutions
Key Takeaways
Current method of giving clients workouts:
No universal videos that they can give
Either a slip of paper with diagrams, or take videos of the user doing the exercise at the clinic
Issues with the current method:
Due to no universal videos, physios cannot give clients new workout videos, unless they come in for another appointment.
Paper slips with diagrams are often lost or damaged.
Paper slips do not show the full range of movement, so clients often do the exercise incorrectly
Physios cannot easily add personalized tips for the exercises
Inefficient process to record a video for each exercise for each client
Clients can only meet and interact with physios during appointment time. Physios cannot keep track of their progress
Solutions:
A standardized video bank of many exercises that the physios can easily choose from and give to clients.
A exercise checklist that sends to therapists to track client progress
