Demonstrate educational technology leadership in school and community through research and innovations in emerging teaching and learning environments (e.g., online, blended, mobile, game-based, competency-based).
For this artifact, the Parent Square Evaluation Discussion and Conclusion, I examined the results of an Evaluation Plan that I conducted on Parent Square for the administrators at my school. In this Evaluation Discussion, I presented the results of my report and explained whether the program’s objectives were being met. I also provided suggestions for addressing staff members' challenges with the program. This artifact represents the PLO for leadership because I was able to support my administrators in evaluating whether Parent Square was fulfilling the school’s needs and how to support their staff members.
As school administrators strive to provide an effective and successful learning environment for students, they must collaborate with teachers on new policies and instructional practices. This Flipped Classroom Presentation was created to be used at a school staff meeting in which they will be collaborating on whether to implement a flipped classroom instructional model and use iPads with their students.
The Google Slides presentation addresses the staff's concerns about their student population not having access to technology at home. This artifact represents the PLO of Leadership by providing staff members and teachers an opportunity to collaborate, research, and discuss whether the flipped classroom and use of iPads would benefit their students.
This artifact is a website that guides social science teachers in implementing inquiry-based learning in their classrooms. I created the website, Connecting Curriculum to Real-World Experiences as a resource for teachers to find ways to make their curriculum more relevant and engaging for students. Providing authentic learning experiences develops skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, perspective, and awareness of global issues. The website includes steps and methods for implementing authentic learning experiences, project-based learning, and resources for teachers to explore further. By researching innovative methods for making learning more engaging, I can support teachers at my school and find new ways to motivate my students.
I developed the website UDL for English Language Learners to serve as a professional development course for the teachers at my school. The website provides modules and weekly lessons for teachers to learn strategies for implementing Universal Design for Learning and supporting their students who are English language learners. Teachers can watch videos, read articles, and meet weekly to discuss the material, ask questions, and apply the strategies to their classrooms.
The website provides opportunities for them to collaborate on discussion board templates and plan and design lessons that integrate UDL principles. This professional development course represents the PLO for Leadership by supporting teachers with their instructional approaches at the school where I work.
My school uses Google Classroom as the online learning platform for synchronous and asynchronous classes. For this artifact, Google Classroom- Rich Media Tutorial, I created an instructional video to support teachers using Google Classroom as an online learning platform and instructional tool. This video helps teachers learn how to use the features of Google Classroom, set up their own classrooms, add assignments and materials, and provide feedback to students.
Teachers will be able to use Google Classroom to provide online lessons to their students, as well as communicate with their students with announcements, comments, and videos. This artifact guides teachers in implementing Google Classroom for hybrid learning, independent learning, and other classroom environments.
