Use technology to facilitate appropriate assessment and evaluation strategies and determine the effectiveness of technology in curriculum or instruction.
For this artifact, I completed an Instructional Design Project Evaluation as the final step for my project in EDTECH 503. My project consisted of a detailed instructional guide for teachers to implement Storyboard That, an educational technology app, with their students. I used Kirkpatrick’s Four-Level Evaluation model to evaluate the learners' reactions to the instructions, the learning gained from the instruction, whether learners can transfer behavior learned after the instructions, and the results or impact of the instruction. My project was also evaluated by a Subject Matter Expert, who provided valuable feedback for each section of my report. This feedback resulted in me making final adjustments and changes to the project report.
Parent Square is a communication platform that schools use to streamline communications between staff members, teachers, and parents. Parent Square also provides a secure platform for teachers and staff members to collect data and forms and post announcements and events. For this artifact, I conducted an Evaluation of Parent Square, in which I evaluated how staff members, teachers, and parents were using the program at The Learning Choice Academy, the school where I work. My evaluation report included an Evaluator’s Program Description, which established the program’s objectives, a Logic Model, and an analysis of the survey results and data.
Staff members, teachers, and parents at the school completed surveys that provided data about whether the goals and objectives of the program were being met. The Evaluation Report concludes with a discussion and analysis of whether Parent Square is meeting the school’s objectives and provides recommendations for addressing challenges and barriers to the program.
This Evaluation Plan analyzes whether the learning objectives were met for a professional development website I created. UDL for English Language Learners provides instructional strategies for teachers who work with English language learners and includes videos, lesson plan activities, and guidelines for applying Universal Design for Learning. The evaluation plan examines the learning objectives for the website, includes an online course design rubric and a participant survey. It represents the PLO of Evaluation and Assessment by determining whether the website provides strategies and instructional tools for using UDL with English language learners and whether the learning objectives for the participants were met.
