What is social justice pedagogy?
Goal and process of social justice
Goal – “full and equitable participation of people from all social identity groups in a society that is mutually shaped to meet their needs” (Bell, 2016, p 1)

have to believe in equality, possibility, the belief that the world can be transformed (see Freire) (Bell, 2016, p 15)

As a researcher,
I will be interviewing novice teachers. I need to look at how they teach, based on their self-reports and/or observations, and what they are teaching (reading selections, writing prompts).
Are educators providing opportunities for students to engage in any types of activism? (Breunig, 2016)
Are educators grounding their curriculum and classroom practices in the lives of students? If so, how? (Breunig, 2016)
How do educators get to know their students? (Breunig, 2016)
How do educators show respect for diversity and differences? (Bell, 2016)
