Artist Statement

I am a creative Graphic Designer and Illustrator that creates using digital and traditional media that deals with the subconscious and memory. I do this by leaving hidden messages and creating work that encourages a closer look. I find that it is important to keep an open mind. Learning about the different pasts people have as its one of the things that makes us unique.

In my practice I strive to be both functional and visual based. I love to learn new things analyzing the brain and what makes it tick is something that fascinated me. The human brain is a muscle that works differently for each person and holds a lot of depth that I find interesting. This is a concept that influences my work and also drives me to pay attention to detail.

The illustrations that I create are expressive, sketchy, and detailed. I create my work in black and white to make the details easier to see and appreciate. Down the Rabbit Hole is a packaging design inspired by Alice in Wonderland and showcases extremely detailed radial designs. Mandalas symbolize creativity as well as a deeper understanding of the self and give the design balance.

The concept of Down the Rabbit Hole on the surface is to design a line of Drinks centered around the theme of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. This was a great influence on my work growing up. Moving to a new place, especially when I was young, made me feel like I was lost in a wonderland of my own. The deeper concept in creating this body of work was to create my underlining childhood paranoia and my current experience and joy of being an adult able to enjoy alcohol.
