BFA in Graphic Design
I am a detail-oriented interdisciplinary graphic designer. I work across many forms of design, from user experience to publication design. I am fascinated with combining different types of art and design to create complex and unique results. This photographic portrait project aims to challenge any preconceptions people have about individuals who live with a disability. The book is a celebration of humanity. It aims to show the value people have despite what other people see as "weaknesses" or "faults." It is important to create because it hopes to show the importance of what it means to find common ground with all kinds of people, love your neighbor as thyself, and to love others unconditionally.
People living with disabilities often tend to get overlooked, and this book hopes to put them in the spotlight. It hopes to celebrate the value of living and humanity. It hopes to bring value to people and provide hope and empowerment. This project is for all audiences, young and old. It is applicable because we are all human, and humanity is always in search of significance. The fundamental purpose inherent to visual arts is the underlying intention to appeal to and connect with human emotion. How do we do that when people are often ignored or overlooked? My contribution hopes to make people and the art world think about who is around them and see the beauty of people.
