Setting a document title in Word is crucial for accessibility, especially for screen reader users. It provides a descriptive identifier for the document, allowing users to quickly understand the content before opening it. Screen readers announce the document title, making it a key element for navigation and content identification.
No document title set — screen reader announces the file name as “document2.docx.”
Document title set — screen reader announces: “BIO 1301 Lab 3 – Cell Transport Report.”

💡 Accessibility Tip: Keep titles brief, specific, and front-loaded with key terms (e.g., “BIO 1301 Lab 3 – Cell Transport Report” rather than “Report for Lab 3”).
