Suggested Schedule
Suggested Schedule
Students have access to tutoring 24/7 via Pear Deck Tutoring and Varsity Tutoring.
The schedule and standards provided are simply suggestions to help ensure students focus on their core subject areas throughout the week.
Solve equations of the form px + q = r and p(x+q) = r
The Number System
• Apply and extend previous understandings of operations with fractions to add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers.
RL.7.2. Determine a theme or central idea of a text and analyze its development over the course of the text; provide an objective summary of the text.
Focus: Provide a statement of a theme or central idea of a text and provide an objective summary of the text.
The Number System
• Apply and extend previous understandings of operations with fractions to add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers.
RL.7.6. Analyze how an author develops and contrasts the points of view of different characters or narrators in a text.
Focus: Provide an analysis of how an author develops and contrasts the points of view of different characters or narrators in a text.
Expressions and Equations
• Use properties of operations to generate equivalent expressions.
• Solve real-life and mathematical problems using numerical and algebraic expressions and equations.
RL.7.1. Cite textual evidence and make relevant connections to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
Focus: In fiction, provide textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly and/or inferences drawn from the text.
Geometry
• Draw, construct and describe geometrical figures and describe the relationships between them.
• Solve real-life and mathematical problems involving angle measure, area, surface area, and volume.
L.7.5. Demonstrate understanding of figurative language, word relationships, and nuances in word meanings.
Focus: Interpret figures of speech in context, use the relationship between particular words to better understand each of the words, and distinguish among the connotations of words with similar denotations.
Statistics and Probability
• Use random sampling to draw inferences about a population.
• Draw informal comparative inferences about two populations.
• Investigate chance processes and develop, use, and evaluate probability models.
L.7.1. Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking.
Focus: Choose among simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences to signal differing relationships among ideas.
