Students have access to tutoring 24/7 via Pear Deck Tutoring and Varsity Tutoring.
The schedule and standards provided are simply suggestions to help ensure students focus on their core subject areas throughout the week.
Add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies; Know single digit sums from memory
Add and subtract within 100
Operations and Algebraic Thinking
Solve one- and two-step word problems involving addition and subtraction.
Fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies.
Explore equal groups as a foundation for understanding multiplication.
L.RF.2.3. Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.
Focus: Know spelling-sound correspondences for common vowel teams.
Number and Operations in Base Ten
Understand place value up to three-digit numbers, including hundreds, tens, and ones.
Use place value and properties of operations to add and subtract within 1,000.
L.RF.2.4. Read with sufficient accuracy and fluency to support comprehension.
Focus: Read grade-level text with purpose and understanding.
Measurement and Data
Measure and estimate lengths in standard units using appropriate tools.
Use addition and subtraction to solve word problems involving lengths.
Work with time to the nearest five minutes and solve problems involving money.
L.WF.2.1. Demonstrate command of the conventions of writing.
Focus: Write the most common graphemes (letters or letter groups) for each phoneme, for example:
Consonants: /s/ = s, ss, ce, ci, cy; /f/ = f, ff, ph; /k/ = c, k, -ck
Vowels: /ō/ = o, oe, oa, ow; /ā/ = a, a_e, ai, ay, eigh.
Data Literacy
Understand data concepts and represent data in graphs or charts.
Interpret data to answer questions and make comparisons.
L.WF.2.2. Demonstrate command of the conventions of encoding and spelling.
Focus: Regular, one, two and three syllable words.
Geometry
Identify, analyze, and reason about shapes and their attributes, including partitioning shapes into equal parts.
