Any content can be copied from one course to another, as well as within any course. This feature is helpful for teachers who would like to reuse any content in a future course or copy content into any existing course.  When courses archive, teachers can use that course as a template and copy over any of the materials.

The school year has come to a close, but now what do you do with all the materials you've worked hard to post throughout the year?

Teachers have two options for reusing or copying materials in future courses:

Option #1: Use your archived course as a template to pull materials from.
Follow the steps below to copy materials from your archived course to your future course.

**This is EdTech's recommendation.**

Option #2: Save your entire course to your Schoology Resources.
The only benefit that sets this option apart from #1 is that you do not have to copy materials one at a time.  You can save the entire course to your Resources, then copy them into your future course all at once.  The main downside would be that the materials populate in the new course all within a single folder.

*Scroll to the bottom of this page for the Option # 2 instructions.

Option #1: Copying materials from one course to another

The following steps walk you through how to copy specific content (one folder or material at a time) from one course to another.

1.) First, go into the course (ex. archived, sandbox, etc.) in which you would like to copy material from. From that course, click on the gear ⚙️ icon next to the folder or content you would like to copy.

2.) Select Copy to Courses

3.) Check the box next to your current course, select the destination (optional) and click Copy.

Option #2: Save your entire course to Resources

The following steps walk you through how to save your entire course to your Schoology Resources.
The only benefit that sets this option apart from #1 is that you do not have to copy materials one item or folder at a time.  You can save the entire course to your Resources, then copy them into your future course all at once.  The main downside would be that the materials populate in the new course all within a single folder.

Duplicating materials within the same course

The following steps walk you through how to duplicate specific content (one folder or material at a time) from within a single course.

1.) First, go into the course (ex. archived, sandbox, etc.) in which you would like to duplicate material. Click on the gear ⚙️ icon next to the folder or content you would like to duplicate.

2.) Select Copy to Courses

3.) Check the box next to your current/same course, select the destination (optional) and click Copy.

4.) That content will appear in the destination you selected.
