Digital Citizenship is a key component of the ISTE (the International Society for Technology in Education) standards.

Torrance Unified School District must certify compliance with E-Rate and CIPA requirements to deliver age appropriate digital citizenship curriculum. Since we receive federal funds, being CIPA (Children's Internet Protection Act) compliant is a must, and can be audited. Each principal must certify that students are receiving digital citizenship instruction each year. There is no minimum number of minutes and it can cover a broad range of topics.
