Torrance Unified School District encourages teachers to use the Digital Citizenship resources provided on this page to address timely topics and prepare students to take ownership of their digital lives. Digital Citizenship is a key component of the ISTE (the International Society for Technology in Education) standards.

Note to Teachers: If you've taught lessons on Digital Citizenship this year, you can submit the Teacher Verification survey as confirmation. Completing this survey is not mandatory. For more information, please inquire with your principal.

EdTech Team

Our EdTech Team is here to help! If you would like us to visit your classroom and teach lessons on Digital Citizenship, email us at edtechteam@tusd.org. We have taught lessons in many classes already this year and would be happy to partner with you. 😃

More Information...

Torrance Unified School District must certify compliance with E-Rate and CIPA requirements to deliver age appropriate digital citizenship curriculum.  Since we receive federal funds, being CIPA (Children's Internet Protection Act) compliant is a must, and can be audited.  Each principal must certify that students are receiving digital citizenship instruction each year. There is no minimum number of minutes and it can cover a broad range of topics.
