Students and families will have access to the same resources students access on their Chromebooks at school. These include but are not limited to Canvas, Google Apps for Education, and digital textbooks where available.
Each device is property of Tuscaloosa City Schools, and is individually labeled and inventoried to the individual student to whom it has been loaned. Each student who has checked out a device and his/her parents/guardians are responsible for proper care and use of the device.
When damage to a Chromebook, charging cable, and/or protective cover issued to a student results from lack of care or intentional damage, the full cost of the repair must be paid for by the student’s parent/guardian.
At school and away from school, the school network is filtered for content. Although Tuscaloosa City Schools makes every effort to minimize a student’s exposure to inappropriate material through the use of the Internet filter, it is ultimately the responsibility of parents and guardians of students to establish and communicate standards that their children should follow when using electronic resources such as the Internet.
