Am I Eligible To Become A Member of Corona NHS?
In order to become a member of the Corona Chapter of the National Honor Society, students may apply in the fall of their junior or senior year. Eligibility requirements include demonstrating the four pillars of NHS:
Character: Candidates must verify through Corona administration that they do not have any discipline referrals. If there have been past discipline referrals, candidates must provide information on the discipline event. Having a discipline referral does not automatically disqualify a student from membership, but does require additional consideration by the NHS Faculty Council.
Scholarship: Candidates must meet academic achievement requirements to apply for NHS membership. Junior or senior students who have an unweighted GPA of 3.5+ (or juniors who have 84 weighted rank points / seniors who have 126 weighted rank points) and have attended Corona for at least one semester are eligible to apply.
Leadership: Candidates must demonstrate previous leadership experience by sharing at least two verifiable leadership activities or roles in which they have participated since their freshman year. These leadership activities must have been conducted outside the candidate's home.
Service: Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to service through previous service activity by sharing at least two verifiable service activities in which they have participated since their freshman year. These service activities must have been conducted outside the candidate's home.
How Do I Apply For NHS Membership?

Application: Eligible students can complete the application linked below.
Submission: Candidates must submit the fully completed application, with all necessary verifications and materials, to the NHS Adviser by the stated deadline. No late applications will be accepted.
Review: Corona administration, NHS Adviser, and NHS Faculty Council review candidate applications. This process typically takes 2-3 weeks once the application deadline has passed.
Notification: Candidates for NHS membership will be notified of their acceptance status via school Gmail, as well as next steps to take in the membership process.

Application Window: Monday, August 4, 2025 @ 3pm - Friday, August 15, 2025 @ 3pm
Final Deadline: Friday, August 15, 2025 @ 3pm [No late applications will be accepted.]
Review: Monday, August 18, 2025 - Friday, August 22, 2025
First Member Meeting: Wednesday, September 3, 2025 @ auditorium, 10 minutes into 4/5 Lunch

Teacher Recommendation Form (please submit at least two of these with your application - we highly recommend submitting more! Remind your teachers that these are due the same day as your application!)
Printed copy of your Unofficial transcript (to find this, login to StudentVue, click on "Course History," and then there will be a blue button at the top of the page. Make sure to PRINT this and staple it to your completed application - report cards will NOT be accepted and will result in an incomplete application.)
