This is a text based input file for the PHIsimv3 program. It can be edited using notepad or any other text editor. The file contains information on the photon densities in all ports of all segments of the optical circuit. These values are the starting values for the photon densities used in the simulation. The file has seven columns. In the first column is the segment number (starting from 0); the second and third are a left port number and a right port number; in the fourth and fifth columns are the photon density (per m3) and the phase of the left port; in the sixth and seventh columns are the photon density (per m3) and the phase of the right port. This file always needs to be supplied, but putting -1 -1 -1 -1 -1 -1 -1 on the first line of the file makes that the photon density and phase will be made 0 at the start of the simulation in all segments and ports.
Please note that when providing data a value must be given for all segments, thus also for the passive ones.
PHIsim_v3 also generates a photon density file which contains the density of all segments in the circuit at the end of the simulation. This file can be used as input file in the next run. One can for instance first in a long simulation determine steady state concentrations and then start subsequent simulations from that point.
An example of a photon densities file is on the Examples page.
