The Campus Assessment Response Education Team, or CARE Team, is here to provide extra support and Texas-sized care to students during challenging times. Please report any situation, observation, or instinct you have about a student’s safety or the safety of the campus community. If you see something, say something.
From counseling services to health issues, learning accommodations to emergency situations, we are here to help. Some of the actions the CARE team may take include:
Assisting faculty or staff in developing a plan of action
Referring to the appropriate support services
Disciplinary action through the Student Rights & Responsibilities Office
Recommending the involvement of family or an emergency contact
Conducting a threat assessment
Voluntary or involuntary withdrawal from the college
Continued monitoring of the situation

The CARE Team may not always be able to provide updates to individuals who submit a report. This is due to privacy considerations and our responsibility to protect student information. However, if you have additional questions or concerns, you are welcome to reach out to the CARE Team. A team member can share any information or updates that fall within the educational “need-to-know” guidelines and are appropriate for supporting the student’s well-being and success.
