At The St Lawrence Academy, our "Student Voice" is very important. One of the ways we ensure we are listening and engaging with our students is through our very active Student Council.
At the start of each academic year, all students are given the opportunity to put their name forward to become part of the student council.
In the last two years the student council has run a number of events including raising money for charities such as The Blue Door and for our eco awareness society. They have also looked at Poverty Proofing through The Red Box scheme and looked at democracy through work with the local Youth Council.
A welcome from our two head TSLA student council leaders for 2021-2022
Hi, I'm Evelina and I'd consider myself an encouraging and hard-working student. Alongside running the school council, I'm also a senior prefect and I help run extra-curricular clubs. I believe these roles are important, as they are part of what makes our academy a successful place for everyone in the community. This year, I aim to make the academy a better place, even if it is only through little changes and suggestions.
Hello, my name is Finley and I am 1 of the 2 leaders of the School Council, I am a senior prefect that help out in the school and runs activities for students to attend. Also, I have taken part in after school events such as football, rugby and cricket fixtures. As a leader of the school council, I want change that will benefit for our next generation, changes that will help the students have a more professional and enjoyable experience at the St Lawrence Academy.
