Meet our House Captain

Hi my name is Maddox. I am Emerald House Captain. I enjoy watching football and F1. I support Scunthorpe and watch them every week, either in person or on the telly. During my time as House Captain, I would like to try and make school feel as normal as possible during such an weird and unusual time. Hope to see you around!

February Diversity Challenges

Emerald Divesrity February

Holocaust Remembrance Day 27th January

We marked Holocaust remembrance day by looking at the stories of survivors of the Holocaust in our character lessons as well as reflecting on the Holocaust and other more recent genocides in reflection time. We feel it is important to remember this day because as an academy we stand against prejudice and hatred in the UK and around the world. This years theme was about bringing light into the darkness so we completed an activity to create a flame while reflecting on the stories we read and listened to. Here are a few of the flames from Emerald House. Thanks Oskar, Igor, Natalia, Storm and Ekin for your work.

Christmas Jumper Day

December the 11th was Christmas Jumper day to raise money for Save the Children. It was great to see so many of you taking part in the celebrations. Here's a picture of some of 7E in their jumpers.

Christmas Half Term Merit Winners

A huge well done to all of Emerald who have tried hard this half term to increase the number of merits and decrease the number of demerits they were gaining. Road Safety Success

Well done to Emerald House for winning the Road Safety Competition. Here is an image of some of the entires. Thanks to everyone that created and shared a poster. A special well done to Maria in year nine as her's was voted as the best out of the Emerald entries!

Emerald celebrate Remembrance Day

Today the Academy celebrated Remembrance Day with a two minute silence at 11am. We have also being creating displays and having lessons about the relevance of Remembrance Day in Religious Education. Thank you to Josh Hobson ( 11E) for coming in his cadet uniform for the day.

House Challenges Update

Just an update on house challenges. Two challenges in and Emerald are very much in the lead winning both the Diversity and the UK Parliament Quizes. Well done everyone that took part it's an excellent start to the year.

The next challenge is for Road Safety Week and we are asking you to create a poster about road safety and the danger of speeding.
