We marked Holocaust remembrance day by looking at the stories of survivors of the Holocaust in our character lessons as well as reflecting on the Holocaust and other more recent genocides in reflection time. We feel it is important to remember this day because as an academy we stand against prejudice and hatred in the UK and around the world. This years theme was about bringing light into the darkness so we completed an activity to create a flame while reflecting on the stories we read and listened to. Here are a few of the flames from Emerald House. Thanks Oskar, Igor, Natalia, Storm and Ekin for your work.
A huge well done to all of Emerald who have tried hard this half term to increase the number of merits and decrease the number of demerits they were gaining. This half term our merit winners are five individuals that have no demerits for the half term but have gained the most merits in their respective years. Congratulations to you all . Our winners for this half term are:
Year 7 Natalia
