Prepare well in advance

For the installation to succeed, it is essential to prepare for it well in advance (ideally, months in advance).

Before arriving to install a Marine Cutter Suction Dredge system, you must have this information:

• Is it a 12 or 24 V DC system?

• General details including layout of the cutter dredge vessel for planning sensor and GNSS installation location.

• Length of ladder and diameter of the cutter head.

• 3D CAD files of the pontoon and ladder (*.SKP, *.3DS) or overall dimensions.

• Have explained to the operator that the installation will take about two days and the ladder needs to be accessible.

• Have obtained photos and ideas as to how a panel PC or computer and monitor can be mounted in the cabin and the acceptable screen size.

• Established the map projection to be used.

• Accessed the pre-dredge hydrographic survey data file.

• Accessed the design surface file.

• Downloaded the latest version of the Trimble Marine Construction software and Marine Cutter Section Dredge sample project file from Trimble. See Before you use the TMC software.
