For the installation to succeed, it is essential to prepare for it well in advance (ideally, months in advance).
Before arriving to install a Marine Cutter Suction Dredge system, you must have this information:
Is it a 12 or 24 V DC system?
General details including layout of the cutter dredge vessel for planning sensor and GNSS installation location.
Length of ladder and diameter of the cutter head.
3D CAD files of the pontoon and ladder (*.SKP, *.3DS) or overall dimensions.
Have explained to the operator that the installation will take about two days and the ladder needs to be accessible.
Have obtained photos and ideas as to how a panel PC or computer and monitor can be mounted in the cabin and the acceptable screen size.
Established the map projection to be used.
Accessed the pre-dredge hydrographic survey data file.
Accessed the design surface file.
Downloaded the latest version of the Trimble Marine Construction software and Marine Cutter Section Dredge sample project file from Trimble. See Before you use the TMC software.
Have the TMC Marine Cutter Suction Dredge System document available. It is in the TMC software installation and available from the Help menu.
