CFForest - Land Resource Manager 6.2.0.42. July 3rd, 2024..
Access your existing LRM content using your traditional LRM Desktop or try LRM Web with your favorite web browser to intuitively explore, search, and update LRM content.
The CFForest: Land Resource Manager web application uses the same configuration as the CFForest: Land Resource Manager desktop application and no additional configuration is required in terms of business rules or LRM configuration. You will need to configure a web service by following the LRM Web Installation Guide. If changes are applied to the LRM Desktop configuration, these changes are immediately reflected both in the desktop and web applications.
As we continue with our LRM Web development you will continue to see improvements to the user experience that makes the application more intuitive and discoverable. Our objective is to develop a responsive web application that adjusts to the form factor you are working with while maintaining global language support and adhering to accessibility guidelines.
When a user logs on to LRM Web for the first time, they are offered a tour of the main components of the user interface.
If the user chooses to follow the tour, a guide will highlight various parts of the application and provide a brief description of each feature. The user can follow the tour or end the tour at any time.
There are additional tutorials available by clicking the “Help” button in the toolbar at the top right and selecting “Show Tutorial”. These tutorials step a user through the various features.
The LRM Web application is designed from the ground up with a responsive design. This means LRM Web can be accessed from your connected browser on a desktop, tablet, or mobile device and the layout automatically adjusts to the screen dimensions.
Key elements of the data view interface include the main menu, current application, navigation panel, breadcrumb, toolbar, and the data view (grid or form view).
Key elements of the map view interface include the main menu, current application, navigation panel, breadcrumb, map toolbar, and the map view.
All functions available when accessing the application from a desktop browser are also available when accessing the function using a connected mobile device, but the way to access them are slightly different depending on the screen’s dimensions.
For example, on smaller devices we tap on the menu icon on the top left to reach the Tree View.
Again, on smaller screens to reach the items usually available on the toolbar we tap on the Ellipsis icon, which is on the right hand side of the Search control.
You can switch from the Data View to the Map View and back to the Data View.
LRM Web is designed to support multiple languages based on your profile. LRM Web currently supports English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Português, Suomi, and Svenska. See Helpful Hints for more information.
There are two components to how language is supported in LRM: 1) Content and 2) Application.
Content includes both context configuration and data. The views in LRM are defined by context configuration that was previously defined during the initial LRM setup. During setup you define contexts and set the language profile. Contexts are displayed based on your default profile. Data entry and updates are based on your language of choice.
LRM Desktop and LRM Web use the same context and profile configurations, so contexts configured for different profiles are displayed according to your profile both in LRM Desktop and LRM Web.
In LRM Web, the application automatically displays the content based on the browser’s language setting for any of the supported languages. If the browser language is set to an unsupported language then LRM Web will use the default profile configured.
The language for the application user-interface for elements like menus and buttons is presented based on your profile language in LRM Desktop.
However, in LRM Web, the application automatically displays based on the browser’s language setting for any of the supported languages. If the browser language is set to an unsupported language then LRM Web will revert to English.
The date format and the pop up calendar are also displayed based on your profile language.
A number of capabilities have been implemented in LRM Web to adopt W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. These improvements have been validated using various application compliance tools and we will continue to implement these guidelines in future releases so we can comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.
