CFForest - Land Resource Manager 6.2.0.42. July 3rd, 2024..
LRM Web has a number of web editing capabilities.
When enabled, the Map View can interact with Data, Search, and Favorites. You can also use the browser to navigate back and forth between features.
To open the Map View, turn on the switch on the “Map” button.
When the Map View opens, itl loads the background layers specified in “baseLayerURL”, “baseLayer2URL”, “imageryLayerURL”, “imageryLayer2URL” and “defaultBaseMap” in the AppSettings.json file. It also loads the managed layers specified in “managedLayerURL” and “managedReadOnlyLayerURL”, which are the editable and read-only layers respectively. A managed layer or a geoprocessing layer is expected to be named exactly the same as the display name of its corresponding context. This is how the web map identifies a layer for a managed context.
If you have selected a feature on the Tree View before you turn on the map, the map will zoom to and highlight the selected item.
If you have selected a feature on the Tree View for which layer has not been configured, a warning “Layer is not found or configured for ...” will appear. Click “Don’t show again” to suppress this message in the map session.
If you have selected a feature on the Tree View which does not have a shape, a warning “Selected … record for … does not have shape” will appear. If you have selected a group in which all features have empty shapes, a similar warning will appear.
If you have selected a group node on the Tree View, its group members will be highlighted on the map. If the number of group members exceeds the number in the “maxMapSelectionCount” setting, the map will not select the group members.
On Search, click “Map View”. The map will highlight the features checked on the grid. If you have checked more than ten items in the Data View, a prompt will appear to confirm that you want to send the selected items to the map.
Optionally, you can click the “Attributes” button (on the map) to show the data grid below the map. Or, you can click “Data View” to bring back the grid on the Data View.
If the selection count exceeds the maxMapSelectionCount setting (i.e. maximum number of features that the map will highlight), a message will appear. Please filter the records in the (split) Data View and click on the tree node to send the selection to the map again.
Once the selected items are highlighted on the map, you can edit individual features by clicking the “Select Tree Node by Clicking a Feature” tool and click on a highlighted feature. It will select the item on the Tree View and you can start editing on it. Make sure the features are visible before you select a feature. If the layer is not visible at the current map scale, the Select Tree Node tool will fail to select the corresponding tree view item.
With a Pinned context view, the map view will open to the right side of the data view panel. The map view will be refreshed and pan to the features of the selected record when a checkbox is activated and a feature exists for the selected record(s).
Pinned contexts allow select more than one record and zoom to selected feature(s)
The browser’s Backward / Forward buttons will bring you to the previous / next feature in your browsing history. For example, you have clicked on Tract “504A” on the tree view and then “504G”. If you click the Back button, the tree and the map will bring you to “504A”. If you now click the Forward button, they will bring you to “504G”. Please note that these buttons do not bring you to the previous / next extent but the previous / next feature.
LRM Web Map supports the viewing of polygon, line and point layers as well as route event layers. Editing is allowed on polygon, line and point layers only. You can edit the route event locations in the Data View and the map will reflect the latest changes. (This requires the route event layers to be published with the “Feature” capability. See Publish a Map. )
When the Map View is open the main Print button enables a Map Export dialog to generate a digital file of your choice for rendering a Map Layout or a Map Image.
Map Layout
By default when the Export Map dialog is opened from the print button the Map Layout tab is opened. In this tab the “Title” will be set with reference to the current feature.
As you select another item on the Tree View, the “Title” on the Print Widget will be updated. You can also manually update the default values.
In this tab you can specify a Page setup and the File format for output.
There are also advanced options to Set scale, enter the Author, Copyright information and set the image quality using the DPI setting. Also included is the option to set the Legend based on the visible Layers in the active Map View.
Once you have set your Layout options press the Export button to generate the file.
Map Only
The other option is to generate a map image which excludes a title, legend, and other textual information.
Here you can set the output File name, File format, Width and Height.
In the Advanced options you can specify the scale as well as the image quality using the DPI settings. The attribution will embed the data sources.
Exported Files
In both the Layout tab and the Map only tab when you click the Export button the output file will be displayed as a link at the bottom of the Map Export dialog. The files are generated on the server and can be opened by clicking on the link or using the right mouse button to download the file to your local machine.
“Map_1” below is the layout format. “Map_2” is the map-only format which does not have the legend, map scale and other elements except the map itself.
Map Settings
Some of the defaults for the Map Export are defined in the Map Administration section under Settings in AppSettings.json.
The following features are available in the Map Menu located on the right side of the application.
The “Layers” button lists the layers (other than basemaps) loaded on the map. You can turn off a layer by clicking on the “visibility” icon to the left of the layer name. You can click “...” to control layer properties. “Zoom to Layer” zooms to all features on the layer. “Layer Information” displays the layer information on another tab. “Remove Layer” removes the layer from this map session. “Increase / Decrease opacity” controls layer opacity.
The “Basemap” button displays a collection of images representing basemaps from ArcGIS.com. Select the one you would like to load on the map.
Note: Application will remember the last selected basemap. Even if the user logs out and logs in again, the user will see the last selection of basemap.
Below is a list of basemaps and corresponding values used in ESRI API.

The “Add Layer” button allows you to add a variety of types of layer to the map:
ArcGIS Server Web Service
WMS OGC Web Service
WMTS OGC Web Service
WFS OGC Web Service
Shapefile
For all but “Shapefile”, a URL will be required to load the layer. In addition, depending on the type of layer the following additional information will be required:
ArcGIS Server Web Service
A magic number
WMS OGC Web Service, WMTS OGC Web Service
No other information required
WFS OGC Web Service
A layer selected from the catalog:
For Shapefiles, select a layer from your file system:
Once the layer has been loaded, the application automatically zooms to the extents of the layer.
The "Attributes" button is a toggle which shows or hides the split Data View below the map view.
The "View" button opens a floating toolbar that holds the tools for viewing data. See Feature Viewing Tools below.
Zoom To Selection
“Zoom to Selection” zooms to the selected feature(s) on the map.
Pan To Selection
“Pan to Selection” pans to the selected feature(s) on the map.
Clear Selection
“Clear Selection” clears the highlight on the selected feature(s).
Zoom to Parent
“Zoom to Parent” zooms to the extent of the parent of the current feature. (The current feature is the feature selected on the tree view.) It does not highlight the parent feature.
Zoom to Full Extent
“Zoom to Full Extent” zooms to the extent of all layers. The extent of a layer is the extent that encompasses all features on that layer.
Refresh Current Layer
"Refresh Current Layer" refreshes data on the current layer. Select a spatial item on the tree view (an individual node or a group node) and click this button to refresh the corresponding layer. A confirmation message will appear after the refresh.
While this tool refreshes only the current layer, the map automatically refreshes all layers after
Attributes on the Data View or Split Data View have been updated. Note: If you have updated the road event position (Location / FromMeasure / ToMeasure) in the (Split ) Data View, the road event positions will be refreshed only if the road event layer is the current layer and is published with the "Feature" capability. If it is published with only the "Map" capability, the map will not show the updated event positions.
Overlays have been run.
Features have been created or updated on the map, i.e. after PostInsert, PostTransaction or PostSave bizactions are run.
Pan to Coordinates
“Pan to Coordinates” opens a dialog which allows you to pan to the specified X,Y coordinates (in the spatial reference of the map view). When the dialog first opens, the X, Y coordinates are the center point of the map view. You can manually type new values in the fields and the map will center at the new coordinates.
Set Map Scale
“Set Map Scale” opens a dialog which allows you to set the map scale by selecting a scale from the dropdown. The drop-down list of scales is not configurable.
Add Map Layer
“Add Feature layers” helps you to add Feature Layers from an URL or a zipped shapefile. Specify the URL that holds the Feature Layers and the number of layers to be added, and click “Add”. This functionality adds only Feature Layers. If you add other layer types (e.g. ImageryLayer, GraphicsLayer), it will fail to add the layer and gives a warning. To add a shapefile to the map, choose the path that points to a zipped shapefile which contains at least the .shp, .shx, .dbf, and .prj files components of the shapefile. The added shapefile will not persist in the next map session.
This function only adds a shapefile that has 1000 features or less. If the limit has been exceeded, a warning will appear. This is a limitation of the ArcGIS API.
WMTS layer lists dropdown with their catalog
The "Edit" button opens a floating toolbar that holds the tools for editing data. See Map Edit section for more details
The Identify button is a toggle which you can turn on or off by a click. When Identify is turned on and you click on the map, it displays the attributes of the features at the top right corner of the map. Identify is turned off by default. Use the left / right arrow on the Identify result to go through the features, if more than one feature falls on the point you click. Click the “Undock” button if you want to float the dialog.
Identify honors the display name, item order and visibility configured in the FieldInfo table. It shows the display values specified in the VT dropdown as opposed to the raw data values. Note: If Identify does not show the display values as you expect, please check that the data value matches the data type of the code column (primary key) in the VT. For example, the data type of "Copy Stand Inventory?" field is NVARCHAR ("1" / "0") while its VT's code column is an INT (1/0), the popup will fail to show the display values ("Yes" / "No"). The solution is to recreate the VT so that its code column data type matches the column data type.
To make sure the date fields display the value in your time zone, please specify a time zone for the published maps. In ArcGIS Pro, you can specify the time zone when you publish a map. However, this option is not available in ArcGIS Map, but you can set the time zone in ArcGIS Server Manager after the map is published via ArcMap.
Add To Favorites Button
Click “Add To Favorites” on the Identify dialog to add the item to the “DEFAULT” Favorite group.
Attributes Button
Click the “Attributes” button on the Identify dialog to display the tabular data of the current feature in the split Data View (below the map view).
The “Measure” opens a floating toolbar that holds two measure tools.
To measure distance between two or more points, click the “Measure Distance” button and click at least two points on the map. To measure an area, click the “Measure Area” button and click on the map to form a polygon.
The "Locate" button opens a floating toolbar with three buttons, Location, Footer and Find My Location. Location opens the Coordinate Conversion widget.
Footer displays information (Map scale and Number of Selected Features) at the bottom right of the map.
Find My Location shows the Locate widget which finds and zooms to your current location. If the button says “Location Service is blocked”, please enable your location service to use this tool.
Note that the accuracy of the location setting is dependent on device capabilities as well as location services being enabled for your device. For example, a laptop with a cellular device that does not have GPS capability will show an approximate location based on network connectivity. Check with your service provider and hardware vendor for location capabilities and accuracy of your device.
If you are having trouble with the accuracy of the location for this feature check your Windows/device settings and check your browser settings. See Troubleshooting section for Location Accuracy
“Select TOC” allows you to select a tree node by clicking a feature on the map. For example, if you want to locate a Stand on the tree view, simply, you need to click on the Select TOC button to activate the functionality and click on the feature you want to select on the map as well as on the tree view. Once you click on the feature, a popup will appear.
click on the feature you want to select. For example:- click on the Stand feature. The functionality will select the feature on the map view as well as on the tree view. And the popup will close automatically.
To select another feature you need to activate the functionality by clicking on the Select TOC button.
