Book groups are semester- or year-long informal gatherings around a facilitator’s selected book. The BCTE handles book purchasing, scheduling, and invitations to participate, based on the facilitator’s schedule and desired audience. Have a book in mind? Look out for an invitation from the BCTE to submit a book group proposal!
Faculty Learning Communities (FLC)

Faculty Learning Communities are semester- or year-long learning seminars and pedagogical deep dives. FLC facilitators have a topic related to pedagogy that they want to explore and a general plan for doing so with a group. The BCTE works with facilitators to develop their idea and handles purchasing resources and scheduling. We also provide snacks for meetings!
Ultimately, FLCs produce at least one "deliverable" of interest to the campus community or beyond (e.g., a resource list or annotated bibliography for the BCTE website or library, a podcast or video, a Canvas module, a Lunch & Learn presentation, a workshop, a conference presentation or manuscript for publication).

Faculty- and staff- led workshop series covering digital teaching tools that help students develop digital literacies. Past workshops have included techniques for building websites, making podcasts, video editing, creating visual digital art, and using generative AI.
