The BCTE is here to help! We can connect you with resources, help you navigate how things work at Transy, talk through teaching questions with you, and give you opportunities to get to know colleagues across campus.

Early career faculty learning community
The BCTE’s Early Career Faculty Learning Community includes all full-time teaching faculty in their first three years in that role.
We meet once a month over lunch to talk about the practical questions that come with teaching and working at Transy—from supporting students to funding opportunities, faculty governance, classroom observations, May Term, and whatever else comes up along the way. We also have periodic workshops, notably for advisor training.
The lunches are deliberately informal. They’re a place to ask questions, compare experiences, get to know colleagues across campus, and talk through the parts of faculty life that don’t always have a simple answer on a webpage. Join us!
