Facilitator Notes: The screencast below is important in introducing Sketchpad, a tool that will be used to help learners visualize different transformations. This introductory video helps limit the cognitive load involved with using the tool so that the learners can focus on the transformations themselves.

Directions: Use the sketchpad below to determine what transformation maps the original figure to each of the numbered figures. Make sure to have Lesson 1 selected. You can do this by clicking on the folder in the bottom right corner. Trace the original and manipulate the shape using the tool. Once you've figured out what transformation occurs, make sure to describe it in the google form below. Experiment away!

This way learners can visualize how the first shape relates to the others and describe intuitively what transformation is occurring. ***Make sure learners are choosing the right picture to manipulate***

Facilitator Notes: This google form is a quick formative assessment to get insight into learners prior knowledge. Submissions are organized into a quick look spreadsheet. This form will be used to determine the transformations that are easily identifiable as well as the transformations that are harder to identify.
