1. Master's program

1. 1. Students are required to receive research advising from their academic supervisor and advising from their co-supervisor according to their area of research, and earn 30 or more credits for courses.

   2. When selecting and determining courses to take, students are required to receive advising from their academic supervisors. (For the determination of academic supervisors.) New students are required to determine their academic supervisors through discussions with the instructor from whom they wish to receive research advising about their research proposals.

   3. Since how to take courses varies depending on the graduate school and course to which they belong, students are required to carefully read the “Completion requirements” section and the “Course requirements” section provided in each course curriculum.

   4. Students are allowed to take courses offered by partner universities (see "Auditing Student System under the Agreement of the Tokyo Metropolitan Graduate School Consortium"), and other courses of our university when their academic supervisors consider this necessary for research advising. Moreover, credits you earned from courses taken through the above-mentioned method, together with credits which will be recognized as “Recognition of credits” that have already been earned, may be counted toward the completion requirements up to a maximum of 20 credits.

   5. The application period for the recognition of credits earned at graduate schools of Toyo University or other universities (including credits earned as a non-degree student) before entering the graduate school of Toyo University is the course registration period of the semester in which you enter the university. For details, please refer to the "Approval of Previously Earned Credits".

   6. When taking courses offered by other graduate schools and courses, students are required to gain approval from their academic supervisors and instructors in charge of the relevant courses after confirming the details on necessary procedures at the office in charge.

2. Doctoral program

1. Students are required to receive research advising from their academic supervisor and advising from their co-supervisor according to their area of research.

2. Students are allowed to take courses according to the instructions of their academic supervisors.

3. Since how to take courses varies depending on the graduate school and course to which they belong, students are required to carefully read the “Completion requirements” section and the “Course requirements” section provided in each course curriculum.

5. When taking courses offered by other graduate schools, courses, and programs, students are required to gain approval from their academic supervisors and instructors in charge of the relevant courses after confirming the details on necessary procedures at the office in charge.

1. After courses to be taken are determined, students are required to undertake course registration by themselves through the ToyoNet-G system during the period indicated below.

2. Any changes and additional registration are not allowed after the end of the course registration period. Students are required to allow sufficient time to undertake course registration.

3. When taking courses offered by other graduate schools, courses, and programs, students are required to gain approval from their academic supervisors and instructors in charge of the relevant courses after providing notification at the office in charge, using designated forms.

A syllabus describes the content to be taught (outline), learning goals (knowledge/skills students can gain from studying the subject), teaching method and content of each class, grading method and criteria, textbooks, and required preparation and review.

1. Students will be graded for the courses that they have registered through examinations or other measures. Students who get passing grade can receive the prescribed credits.

2. Grades are evaluated as described below.

The academic performance of students is assessed in a comprehensive manner based on their remarks in classes, responses to assignments, daily commitment to classes and results, and other factors.
