During the enrollment process for the 2019-2020 school year, parents/guardians were offered a sign off that allowed their students a digital library card account that gives them access to the Topeka and Shawnee County digital resources. This access allows students to check out both digital and hardcopy resources from the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library and the bookmobiles.
If this opportunity was missed, parents are encouraged to register for a library card for both themselves and their student(s). Check out all the services they provide to the community.
The sign off will be offered again during the 2020-2021 enrollment.
Tonya Foster created these videos explaining how to establish Student accounts.
Here is how to create the accounts: https://youtu.be/4gp7jApEc6E
Here is how to use Hoopla: https://youtu.be/l_aeAA9YmTY
Below are the instructions for students.
--Sign in with your Library card number: the numbers 501 + 6 digit student ID# --- Example "501123456"
--and your PIN/password: Your graduation year 5th-2027; 4th-2028; 3rd-2029; 2nd-2030; 1st-2031; K-2032
If these don't work, then an account was not generated for the student. Ask your school librarian or contact
the library at ask@tscpl.org, call 785-580-4400 or text 785-322-4099.
