TIER III INTERVENTION
A functional behavior assessment (FBA) is a process that is used to determine the function of individual’s behavior. By determining the function of the behavior, interventions can be matched to the function of the behavior and replacement behaviors to serve the similar function of the original behavior.
When a student is in RtI Tier III for behavior, the SIT committee will begin the FBA process.
TISD will use the Prevent, Teach, Reinforce (PTR) FBA model for Tier III behavior.
The FBA will be completed by members of the SIT committee with consultation with the LSSP.
The FBA will determine the function of the behavior(s) of the student.
The FBA will be used to determine the behavior support plan (BSP) for the student.
