Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) focus on the three big ideas: a commitment to student learning, collaboration among educators, and using results to drive continuous improvement.
Educators engage in the PLC process as an ongoing approach grounded in shared learning, collective responsibility, and commitment to high levels of learning for all students.
This checklist should be utilized at all stages of an MTSS. Grade level and course specific teams take lead responsibility (i.e., not sole responsibility) for identifying, teaching and reteaching essential academic standards, directing supplemental academic interventions, and assisting with academic and behavior supports at Tier I and Tier II. Leadership Teams and Student Intervention Teams (SIT) must continuously support, communicate and collaborate with teacher-led PLCs.
