The Semiconductor Engineering Course provides participants with an opportunity to gain practical exposure to semiconductor research and manufacturing technologies at Tohoku University. The course is designed as a small-group program to allow close interaction with instructors and effective hands-on learning. Participants will conduct activities at μSIC with the support of the Semiconductor Creativity Hub (S-Hub). In particular, CMOS circuit design and practical activities in the cleanroom will provide students with first-hand experience of semiconductor-related research and fabrication environments.

- Fluent in English
- Relevant background or strong interest in semiconductor engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, materials science, or related fields
- Interest in hands-on laboratory and cleanroom activities
The course consists of lectures, research and facility introductions, and hands-on activities related to semiconductor technologies. Participants will take part in small-group activities at μSIC, including CMOS circuit design and practical training in the cleanroom.
Participants have the opportunity for intensive, hands-on experience, including CMOS circuit design, CMOS device testing, and practical semiconductor fabrication training in the cleanroom. The semiconductor laboratory work will cover the following topics:
CMOS circuit design (tools: simulation software for optimization)
CMOS device testing (tools: probe station, semiconductor parameter analyzer)
Semiconductor fabrication process training in cleanroom (photolithography, dry etching, metrology, etc.)
