All applicants must be current students. Each partner or invited university is requested to nominate eligible students from their institution by April 15. Please note that each university may nominate up to five students. However, the final number of accepted students may be smaller depending on their selection process.
All documents must be uploaded in English during the application process.
Academic transcript of your current degree program
Personal statement (1 page maximum)
CV including a portrait photo
Include all education and employment history from high school enrollment to present, with month-level date details. Due to Security Export Control requirements, there must be no gaps in your history.
Photocopy of passport (photo page and personal information page)
The JASSO Scholarship (80,000 JPY) is available for non-Japanese participants of TESP. Please note that the number of recipients is limited to a maximum of 30 students, and not all applicants will be awarded the scholarship. The scholarship will be disbursed in cash during the program period.
Applicants will be notified of the selection results by email by April 30.
We appreciate your understanding that, due to the high number of applications, not all nominated students can be accepted.In addition, applicants are kindly asked to understand that acceptance may also be declined if it cannot be approved under the export control or security screening requirements of University.
A payment link will be sent to all participants via email along with the selection results. Please complete your payment by debit or credit card. The payment must be received by Tohoku University no later than May 20.
