Through lectures, laboratory visits, and hands-on activities, participants will explore a range of topics in applied chemistry, chemical engineering and biomolecular engineering. Participants will be assigned to one of the laboratories registered in this program and work in small groups, respectively under the guidance of faculty members and researchers. Through these activities, students will gain a deeper understanding of research approaches in chemical and biological engineering, and experience a taste of the international research environment at Tohoku University.

- Laboratory experience is preferred
The course consists of introductions to chemical and biological engineering research, laboratory presentations and visits, and hands-on research activities conducted in registered laboratories. Each student will be assigned to one of the host laboratories and participate in experiments and other research activities under the supervision of faculty members and researchers in the laboratory.
Participants have an opportunity for the hands-on laboratory to experience technologies they are taught in lectures. Pick up one laboratory from the suggested options. The activity is conducted in each group. There is scheduled a presentation session where the participants report their results of the hands-on activities on the final day of the program.
