Check the main water valve. Open the closet in the staircase landing and inspect whether or not the valve to your housing unit is open. For Gekicho Housing, the main water valve is at the back of the building. Confirm which valve is the correct valve for your unit before attempting to open. The valve may be difficult to turn.
Adjusting the amount of gas output with the "Gas-flow knob" at the bottom of the bathtub water heater may solve the problem. For more information, please click here. For the full bath tub water heater manual, click here (Japanese only). For residents of Gekicho Housing click here for adjusting the gas flow knob and here for the full manual (Japanese only).
We do not permit drilling of large holes in the walls of the housing. Please ask the contractor to open the small window in the sliding door slightly to allow the piping to pass through and then fill in around it. If the screen door is fixed in place, ask the installer if they are able to remove the screen door. If they are unable, they are allowed to make a small cut in the screen to allow the piping to pass through. You will not be required to repair the screen door when moving out.
Attempt to remove the screen door and set it to the side. If this is not possible, you may cut a small hole in the screen door to allow the piping to pass through. You will not be required to repair the screen door when moving out.
Refer to the person in charge at your housing unit. The Housing Association is responsible for the cleaning of the housing unit grounds and stairwells.
