The Forgotten Sunset
My grandmother will always be my favorite artist. Entering her studio was like stepping foot into a creative utopia; a sea of shiny, brightly colored canvases lining the walls, her table overflowing with the pastels of her watercolor paints. I always loved her sunset paintings–the way she blended the skyline into the ocean in an array of pink and purple hues.
Now, when she looks at the sunset painting hung on my wall and says, “That’s beautiful! Who’s it by?” I can’t help but wish she knew it was hers.
