Initial entry in externally assessed standards will be made by your class teacher based on the course that you are doing. You may negotiate with your class teacher about standards you want to enter.
In mid-august you will be given a check sheet with your external entries. You must check that the entries are correct. In particular you must check carefully for any missing standards. The check form should be signed by you and your parents and returned to your Whānau teacher on or before the due date on the check sheet.
Consult with your teachers before entering or withdrawing from any standard. Note that you will not be withdrawn from a standard unless your parent or guardian has signed the form.
Entries after Friday 1st September are late entries. If you request a late entry you will not get a personalised examination paper and you will need to follow some extra administration steps at exam time. No withdrawals are possible after 1 September.
If you do need a late entry it is important to make this as soon as possible to ensure that there is an examination paper available for you. Very late entries may not be possible if there is not a paper available.
To make a late entry you must see the Principal's Nominee.
No withdrawals from standards are possible after 1 September.
If you decide to withdraw from an external standard before the entry check sheets are issued you can talk to your class teacher. Once the entry check sheets have been issued you will need to be withdrawn by the Principal's Nominee. Indicate clearly on the checksheet which standard you want to withdraw from and ensure that the sheet is signed by a parent or guardian.
