Welcome back to the final half term of this academic year! On Tuesday the children enjoyed a visit from some Luton Town players. The players spoke to the children about a community award which Jacob Brown and Elly Wade have been awarded. The award was for their contributions outside of football. Jacob Brown has done a lot of work around anti-discrimination; we were lucky enough to be picked out of all of the schools in Bedfordshire because the club wanted to visit a school in the community where their work has an impact. As part of the assembly, the children were able to ask the players questions. The children's intelligent talking shone through in their interesting questions to both players.
Over the next couple of weeks there are a number of statutory assessments taking place: Year 4 will be completing the Multiplication Check; Year 1 the Phonics Screening Check and Year 2 will be completing optional Key Stage 1 Assessments. Please ensure that your children are in school (unless they are unwell) so that they can take part in these assessments. They children have been well prepared for them and will showcase what brilliant learners they are!
Next week, some of our Year 5 and 6 children are heading off for a week of adventure at Caythorpe Court, we are sure they will have a fabulous time and look forward to seeing the pictures and hearing their stories when they return!
If you are looking for a gift for a Father figure, drop in and see what the FOTF Father's Day Market has on offer!
As we enter the last half term, please remember to ensure your children are wearing the correct uniform: red jumper/cardigan, white polo shirt, grey/black trousers, skirts or tailored shorts, red summer dress. As part of the uniform school shoes must be worn each day and that trainers are only permitted when it is a PE day.
Please remember that school uniform should be worn at all times unless told otherwise by the school. Children who come to school wearing their own clothes (for example different jumpers) will be given a school jumper from the uniform exchange to wear.
A number of children have started to wear dangly or hoop earrings - these are not allowed in school because they may get caught and cause an injury. If your child wears these types of earrings, they will be asked to take them out.
There are many educational visits taking place this half term. Please ensure that you know when these are and that your children are in school with a pack lunch (if required) and appropriate clothing. It is always advisable to bring a coast if the visit is outdoors as the British weather can be changeable! Hats, suncream (for self application) and a bottle of water (no glass, squash of fizzy drinks).
Please remember to ensure that you have made the voluntary contribution and have given consent for a visit on ParentPay. Without consent, we will not be able to take your child out of school. This must be done in good time to ensure that we have the appropriate ratios to keep everyone safe.
