The College of Arts OJT/Internship program has the following objectives:
To provide the Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science students an opportunity to be exposed to an actual work setting and apply their academic learning into practical applications, and
To develop and instill among students the industry-desired values of positive work attitude, initiative, good human relations, competency in technical skills that pertain to their field of study, and the openness to keep on learning to reinvent themselves.
B. GENERAL
The course aims to fulfill the Bachelor of Arts in English Language/Bachelor of Arts in Political Science program
to transform students into graduates with full competence in their fields of study. This program shall ensure the
effective experience of the OJT / Practicum student in preparation for the students’ immersion in the world of work
towards the attainment of a meaningful career.
C. SPECIFIC
Students will be able to:
1. use the techniques, skills, and modern technology necessary for the practice of the profession (Student
Outcome b);
2. function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams and in multidisciplinary
settings (Student Outcome e);
3. communicate effectively in oral and in written English (Student Outcome f).

E. AREAS OF TRAINING
I was assigned to the Regional Trial Court 163- Coron, Palawan. My OJT Supervisor was Atty. Mary Ann Marigondon- Clerk of the court VI. I was tasked to attend/watch the hearing, tabbing of files by their names, dates and the title of the contents, organizing the files, listing the files, finding the listed files, segregating the files, labeling some of the log books, checking notarial transmittals, attaching files in the documents, attaching of return cards, segregating the return cards, fixing the front page/cover of the files, encoding the names of the cases for tabbing, listing of missing documents in the files, sorting the schedule of hearing by their dates, photocopying, stamping the receipts.
F. REFERENCE MATERIALS (E.G. MANUALS, TEXTBOOKS, ETC.) USED IN THE TRAINING
There are no specific manual or textbooks involved in my work as an intern in Regional Trial Court 163- Coron, Palawan. I received specific task-related instructions from the Clerk of the court and staffs.
