In Year 9 we focus on the 20th century.
This period is important because it influences the present day more than any other historical era. We begin by studying the Imperial War Museum's interpretation of the First World War before moving on to look at how far Lenin convinced his fellow Russians to become communists.
After which we look at the origins of the Holocaust and the decolonisation of India and Ireland.
We then study the extent to which the Civil Rights Movement in the USA achieved racial equality for African-Americans and finish by looking at the impact of the British Empire on the UK today.
