Standard Chartered Arts in the Park 2023
Date: Oct - Dec 2023
It is our pleasure to be one of the schools participating in “Standard Chartered Arts in the Park 2023”, Hong Kong’s largest outdoor youth arts festival that
culminates in a 2-day carnival (Mardi Gras) including puppet parade. The theme this year is inspired by Saint-Saens’ The Carnival of the Animals. The
three-month intensive art programme provided our Form 4 Visual Arts students with an exciting opportunity to create a 2-metre tall giant puppet using
new materials and creating methods. The result is a giant grasshopper in metallic colour with a surrealism and Sci Fi style that was created under the
guidance of Ms Clara Ho who is one of our partners in the artist-in-school scheme. On 3 December 2023, our students carried the puppet on their
shoulders and paraded through the streets in Causeway Bay and interacted with the public. This has been a most
unforgettable experience for all participating students.

Antique Revival- Hong Kong in Arts: Creative Arts Technology and Cultural Inheritance Programme for Gifted Students
古物新繹—藝創香港:創意藝術科技及文化傳承資優計劃畢業展
Date: 2023-2024
How can age-old traditional art and emerging technologies be synthesized? The integration of the new and the old has been a much scrutinized and deliberated subject for long. "Hong Kong in Arts: Creative Arts Technology and Cultural Inheritance Programme for Gifted Students" is jointly organized by Centre for Learning Sciences and Technologies and the Art Museum of The Chinese University of Hong Kong as an attempt to respond to the question.
Four VA major students were selected to join a one-year training programme featuring diverse learning activities that offer knowledge and experience of ancient Chinese material culture and modern technological tools. Through the final art creation exercise, students reflected on and presented their exploration of the infinite possibilities in combining tradition with modernity. Their graduation showcase, titled “Antique Revival”, will be held in the Art Museum from 22 to 29 June, 2024. In the exhibition, you can see installation and moving images and artworks created by our students under the guidance of practicing artists.
