Our first Junior Form Art Exhibition at the JCCAC

Between October 14 and 18 in 2021, our School organises an exhibition of the selected artwork of our Form 1 to 3 art major and minor students at the Central Courtyard and on 2nd floor of the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (more commonly known as the JCCAC). This event is named "WeHere". "We" refers to the students' spirit of togetherness when practising art. "Here" is the existence of their creativity expressed in the art objects , the outcome of their diligent work and efforts in past two years. Through the displayed artwork, our students shared their concepts and joy with their parents, friends and the public.

Message from Mr Vincent Cheng, the Principal

“Visual Arts” makes no sense if it is not made visible to others.

“Visual Arts” mends no soul if it is not made appreciable by others.

The showcase is a platform for endorsing a sense to our Visual Arts talents.

Our show-up is a pledge for enlightening the soul of our Visual Arts learners.

Message from Ms Yip Shing Yan, Visual Arts Panel Head

"An art exhibition is a valuable platform for our students to express themselves and to show their work to the public.

It is a certificate of recognition to all students and will encourage them to move forward"

Message from Ms Tse Siu Wah, Visual Arts Deputy Head

"The Junior Form Visual Arts curriculum encourages young artists to make creative objects. Students develop ideas for a range of artworks which are explored through different themes. Art learning experiences enable them to have fun, gain confidence and learn new skills.

"We Here" - The Junior Form Art Exhibition represented a journey of student learning experiences. Colour and expressive images infused the exhibition space. It creates a dramatic visual impact of student artwork."

Message from Ms Lam Siu Yi

"This has been a uniquely valuable experience for everyone. Students have pushed the bounds of their creativity and individuality, using different resources to design forms of art. By evaluating contextual themes and through a meticulous selection of medium, they demonstrated their inherent understanding of societal values, evoking our own criticism and reflection.

As their teacher, to have guided them into such standards of creativity and imagination is a deeply inspiring and valuable experience."

Message from Ms Ip Pui Ling, Ivy

"The exhibition sounds like a celebration of the engagement and creativity of our students. It involves the participation of both major and minor Visual Art students. Recognized as a core academic subject, all the major VA students demonstrated their passions and talents in problem solving and creativity, as well as their strong visual impacts and skills. While the minor VA students also showed their divergent, passionate and positive energy in art. It is amazing to see the potential in every child!

Our enthusiasm keeps our students excited and engaged, which also means they are learning!

We Here! We Art Better!"

Message from Ms Liu Wing Yan

"What is Art? That’s the question I always ask myself and my students. In Art, we look around, perplexed and excited, start our journey of searching…perhaps, it is a search for self; maybe, an expression of feelings and thoughts; or, just a free flow of ideas.

Art creation is an interaction of media, craftsmanship, and ideas, always an intricate and complicated coordinate reflecting the cultural and spiritual elements.

Our Junior Form students are on their artistic roads, or all the way clear, or twists and turns, but each one is constantly on the move and eventually finds their medium and direction. They observe, examine, respond and express their inner world and world outside.

We can safely conclude that they have been successful and this exhibition is proof of their passion and talent. Congratulation to our young Ti-I Artist. Now here, Let’s start and go beyond."
