READ every day for 20-30 minutes. This can be in the form of books of your choice, the newspaper, or online sources approved by your parents. There are many websites that offer young adult novels; here's one example. You might also think about something you've wanted to learn about... and then Google it if you have the technology to do so. Or... learn about how to do something in your house (for example... read a manual from a drawer, or read a cook book...). You can also access SORA: ebook / audio book access for free. Search for Thompson R2-J and login the same as you would your district computer.
You can also access Libby and Hoopla, the Public Library digital apps for ebooks, audio books, music, movies, etc. You need you Public Library card to access these.
WRITE every day for 20-30 minutes. Choose your grade level from the top of this page, then choose 1-2 topics to write about each day.
WRITE AND SPEAK for 20-30 minutes. Consider your current reality. Write about your day in at least as many sentences as your grade (e.g. 9th graders write 9 sentences, 10th graders write 10 sentences, 11th graders write 11 sentences...). Then, share your writing with one other human. This could be done via text to a friend or through social media.
Visit your grade-level at Khan Academy for practice.
LISTENING
Record yourself speaking your written piece out loud, then listen to your recording.
Listen to a friend's written draft, then share yours.
Share using a digital tool, with your parents approval, such as a link to your voice recording (do not state your last name!) through text, or other means.
