READ every day for 20-30 minutes.
This can be in the form of books of your choice, the newspaper, or online sources approved by your parents. There are many websites that offer young adult novels; here's one example. You might also think about something you've wanted to learn about... and Google that subject if you have the technology to do so. Or ... learn about how to do something in your house (for example ... read a manual from a drawer, or read a cook book ... ).
WRITE AND SPEAK for 20-30 minutes.
Choose your grade level from the top of this page, then select 1-2 of these to write about each day.
Consider your current reality. Write about your day in at least as many sentences as your grade (e.g. 6th graders write 6 sentences, 7th graders write 7 sentences, 8th graders write 8 sentences). Then, share your writing with one other human. This could be done via text to a friend or through social media.
Visit your grade-level at Khan Academy for practice.
LISTENING
Record yourself speaking your written piece out loud, then listen to your recording.
Listen to a friend's written draft, then share yours.
Share using a digital tool, with your parents approval, such as a link to your voice recording (do not state your last name!) through text, or other means.
