The Blitz World War II
The children will find out about a significant turning point in British History. We will focus on research and fact finding initially and then investigate how this event changed Britain and the effect it had on British people. We will complete a study on children during the Blitz and the impact this had on their lives.
GRADES - Disability: - The Holocaust and the feelings Hitler had toward the Jewish population and people with disabilities.

We have thought about the impact of World War II; both the social effects and changes to the British Empire. The children explored what it would have been like to be a refugee and to experience anti-Semitism; producing persuasive and emotional letters. DT provided us with the opportunity to explore rationing and shortages. Following the Make Do and Mend theme, they produced bags, stockings, soft toys and games, which were all made with recycled materials.
Shakespeare
Children will immerse themselves in the work of arguably the world’s most famous playwright – William Shakespeare. They will laugh through his comedies and gasp at his tragedies whilst all the while discovering the techniques of writing and performing a play script. They will also discover the influence Shakespeare’s work had on the vocabulary we use today!

Crime and Punishment
Year 6 will discover how crime and punishment has changed throughout the ages. Learn how changes in society create changes in the kind of crimes that are committed, as well as the ways in which they are punished.
