The Stone Age
Children will learn about the changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age. A significant period in history – key events, culture and way of life. We will look at the difference in homes in the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic times and Skara Brae.
GRADES - Gender: In our story "The Stone Age Boy" we discuss how the boy learns from the girl, and how he values her expertise.
Year 3 have learnt about chronology - we have placed the Stone Age on a historical timeline; learnt what life was like in the Stone Age and analysed different cave paintings to work out the meaning!
Ancient Egypt
A History focused topic where children will expand their understanding of Ancient Egyptians! They will explore what daily life was like in Ancient Egypt in comparison to now, the meaning of mummification and how to create and decode hieroglyphics. They will understand where and when the first civilizations appeared and their achievements.
