Minibeast Mondays
This week's minibeast is bumble bees! Watch the video below and use the information to create a fact-file about bees. We want you to write about what they eat, where they live, and what they look like. We would love you to do some drawing in your fact-file too! If you want to know something else about bees, you could research this on the internet with your grown-up.
Sentence Detectives!
Mrs Clark has created some super sentences, but some of the words have been replaced by pictures! Can you use your fred-fingers to sound out the pictures?
Spicy challenge: Can you create your own sentences with pictures for the missing words? You could get your grown-ups to try and guess the words, or put them onto Tapestry for your teachers to try and solve!
Playdoh Maths
Use the recipe linked here to make your own playdough. Work together with your grown up to weigh out the ingredients and mix it all together. Be careful when adding the warm water.

When you have made your playdough, and it’s not too sticky, use it to do some maths activities. You could roll different amounts of balls to match numbers, or you could create the numerals themselves by rolling and stretching to dough.
Little Shop
For today's task, we would like you to set up your own little pretend shop, setting all of the prices to 20p or less (see Miss Parkinson's shop below for an example). You'll need a range of objects labelled with prices and some 1p coins. If you don't have enough coins, twinkl have a great coins sheet that can be printed, or you could use something else to represent the coins. Click here to use Printable Coins from Twinkl.
Can you practise counting out the pennies to make the totals for each object? For example, if Miss Parkinson wanted to buy the tin of beans, she would need to count out 6 pennies.
Spicy challenge 🌶 As an extension to the above activity, can you try and use different coins to find the same amount. For example, if Miss Parkinson was buying the beans for 6p, she could use 6 pennies, or a five pence and a one pence. There are lots of different variations that you could use!
Musical Instrument
We would like you to try and make a musical instrument out of different things that you can find in your house.
You could try to make a shaker, using things like bottles and boxes filled with rice. Or drums made out of tubs too! There are lots of fantastic ideas online! Try Activity Village for some inspiration!
Spicy challenge 🌶 Can you make up a song, or sing one that you already know, to go with your instrument? We would love to see your videos on tapestry- see if you can get everyone at home to join in!
