Minibeast Mondays
This week's minibeast is the millipede ! Watch the video below and use the information to create a fact-file all about millipedes. We want you to write about what they eat, where they live, and what they look like. We would love you to do some drawing in your fact-file too!
As we mentioned in yesterday's story time- we are very excited to have Miss Brown's sister joining us in Forever Proud Assembly on Friday. She is a nurse and a health visitor.
For today's daily challenge, we would like you to talk with your grown-up about what a health visitor is, and about what you already know about nurses. There's a link below that grown-ups at home can read with you (just the introduction, and what nurses do).
After you have talked about what you already know, see if you can come up with 2 questions to ask her on Friday. We're looking forward to hearing what you come up with!
My new pet!
Hello, I am Stripy. I am a Pet Rock and Mrs Clark chose me and decorated me, she is the best owner!
For today's challenge can you make a new pet a bit like me? It doesn't have to be a rock, it can be a sock, or something else you can find in your house. I would love to see a picture of a new friend on Tapestry!
Spicy challenge: We all have different personalities, likes and dislikes just like you! Mrs Clark made a fact-file all about me- can you do one for your new pet too? Your grown up could help you with the headings, but I think you should use your Fred-fingers as much as you can to sound out the facts about your pet. Here's Mrs Clark's fact file to help you.
Toy Story
Can you invent a story using some toys? Pick at least 3 of your toys, and make up a story. Think about where your characters live, what problem have they encountered? Which of them is a villain or the hero? How did they solve the problem? Can you explain and act it out for a sibling or a grown up? We would love to see some video''s of this on Tapestry.
Spicy Challenge!
Can you use your fred-fingers to write what one of you characters may be saying, you can use a speech bubble template if you like!
The Wishing Tree
Today is Chinese New Year! All around the world lots of people are celebrating the Year of the Ox.
Here is Miss Anderson reading a story talking about Chinese New Year and reading ‘Dragons in the City’. Listen and learn lots of things about this exciting festival.
Today’s challenge is to draw and write your own wishes for the future for your very own Wishing Tree, just like people do for Chinese New Year. They hang them on special ‘Wishing Trees’. You could hang yours around the house, or even on your tree outside. It would be wonderful if your family could take part and you could all share your wishes for the year ahead.
新年快乐 (Shee nian kwai luh)
Here is Miss Andersons example of her 'Wishes' for the future. You can write your wish, draw it, or do a combination of both. We can't wait to see them on Tapestry! Here is a picture of a real 'Wishing Tree' too!
