Madeleine Parish Safety & Security
Inform, Prepare, Act
A Commitment to Safety:
The Madeleine Community, in extending our welcome, must also commit to the safety and security of all whom we encounter. We accept this act as an integral part of our Catholic faith, out of the love that marks us as disciples of Christ.
This website serves the Madeleine Community's shared commitment to safety and security. It is meant to "tick all the boxes" as an information source for safety training, practices, and methods, that will help you make informed decisions and take effective actions during an emergency. It also provides resources that will assist you in building preparedness plans for activities both on campus and at home.
What you can expect to find:
The website is a "living" resource, updated and revised as information sources change and as knowledge and practices evolve. For ease of navigation, dedicated web pages inform specific topics. You can navigate the pages using the links in the left hand bar.
A summary for each specific page is provided below:
Engage Safety: Know Your Role
The Madeleine Community consists of school and pastoral staff, ministry leaders, students, parents, and more. A baseline of training and awareness is suggested for each of these groups so that all of us can naturally and seamlessly act if support of each others safety and well-being.
Safety Training: Online and In-Person
Safety training aids awareness and improved decision-making during an emergency. Find scheduled training, both online and in-person, on the Safety and Security Training Page.

Pandemic Planning and Response
COVID-19 has provided us with considerable experience in dealing with a pandemic and communicable disease. What will the next health challenge be, and how will we respond?
Countering Active Threats
Active threats challenge the safety, welfare, and continuity of Madeleine activities and functions. Your actions can make a difference in the outcome of an active threat, and may deter it entirely.
Emergency Preparedness Planning
If we embrace safety as a cultural trait and as an attribute informing our day to day lives, then it must follow us everywhere, at work, at play, in our house of worship, and in our homes. Here you can find resources that can inform your plans and actions as part of your daily routine.
