You put words or pictures in text boxes to move them around easily.
Go to the Insert Tab.
2. Click on the Text Box icon.
3. You will see this drop -down screen with different choices for text boxes.
4. Select Simple Text Box.
5. Click in box and delete text by using the Backspace key or the Delete key.
6. Type something in the box.
To change the size of a Text Box, use your mouse.
1. Click on the text box to select it.
2. You will see little circles around the text box.
3. Move your mouse over these boxes.
4. You will see an up and down arrow.
5. Hold your left mouse button down on the arrow and move the mouse to shrink or enlarge the size of the text box.
6. A black square will show you what your text box will look like.
7. Lift your finger off the mouse button when you have the size that you want.
8. Click inside the box to enter your text.
9. Click on the Text Box.
10. Move the mouse over the text box until you see 4 arrows
11. Hold the left mouse button down and move the text box.
12. Lift your finger to stop.
Go to your Insert tab.
Click on Shapes.
Choose the shape you want from the menu.
Click on the screen where you would like your shape to go.
To move your shape, put your cursor over the shape until it looks like 4 arrows.
Hold your left mouse button down over the four arrows and drag the shape where you want it to go.
You can go to shapes to put lines and arrows in your document.
Go to your Insert tab.
Click on Shapes.
Click on Line shape
Click the mouse on your page where you want the line to begin. Hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse to where you want the line to finish
Lift up your finger.
Click on your line.
You will see little circles at the end of the line.
Click on the circle, a plus sign will appear.
Hold down your left mouse button and move to the size you want.
Put your mouse on the line.
Hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse where you want the line.
Lift your finger.
Go to your Insert tab.
Click on WordArt.
Select the style you would like to use.
Click on the style you want and start.
Type what you want to say.
To move your words, press down on your left mouse button when you see the 4 arrows.
Word will show special formatting tool bars for inserted items.
To use this toolbar you must click on the item you are changing.
Click on your WordArt.
Under Drawing Tools, there will be a Format tab.
Click on Quick Styles to change the styles of your WordArt.
Changing your WordArt font is the same as changing regular text in Word.
Highlight your WordArt.
Select the Home tab.
Select the font you wish to use.
Click on the font sizes.
Select the size you wish your font to be.
Use Word Art and write your name.
Save on your DOC as Word Art Name and close.
Insert a Text Box.
Type your name and address in the box without hitting Enter.
Select text by highlighting and make it size 16 font.
Click on the text box and widen or shorten it so your name will fit on the first line, your street address on the second line and your province and postal code on the last line. If you have a really short name, you may have to space it over to make your address go to the next line.
Save on your DOC as Address Text Box and close.
Make a star in Shapes.
Make the star Shape Fill Yellow.
Save on your DOC as Yellow Star.
Close.
