Careful annotations are foundational to productive and insightful Harkness discussions. Students are explicitly taught how to annotate readings using the symbols and rubric below.

THE KEY TO SUCCESS AT THE TABLE IS PREPARATION. Annotate and engage with the readings, do the assignments, and come prepared to share your ideas, find solutions to your problems, and discover new approaches. Learning will be fun again.

Cornell Note-taking strategies are introduced in 9th grade and are expected to be used in each subject.
